Transparency International Georgia

  1. Large investment projects, offshore companies participating in such projects

Transparency International Georgia is monitoring several prominent investment projects; in particular, we select state-announced projects and collect maximum information about them to see if the investor is fulfilling its obligations. We will try to find out what obligations were taken on by the companies participating in these projects, which of these obligations have been fulfilled and at what stage of implementation are the specific projects.

Emphasis will be made on the companies registered in offshore zones. We will attempt to find out registration information on offshore organizations via various internet resources and to identify their representatives in Georgia and their links to the government.

We will gather the most comprehensive information on procurement in one portal, which will help to raise knowledge of these projects, and at the same time give opportunities to interested people to easily find and process desired information.

  1. Owners of large businesses

Transparency International Georgia plans to search for the foundation documents of leading companies in several sectors and conduct an analysis to detect the owners and possible privileges they might receive from the state.  We will try to identify connections between owners of the aforementioned large companies and the state.

Our organization will attempt to research fiscal histories of large companies, particularly to find out if they have been fully inspected, and if these companies were seen in any kind of a dispute with the state in the Disputes Board of the Ministry of Finance or the court. At the same time, we will conduct research concerning the participation of these companies in central or regional tenders and the results of such tenders.
