Majoritarian Candidates Initiative: Know Your Options
TI Georgia has developed a new wiki website: www.transparency.ge/candidates which serves as a space for Georgian citizens to learn more about politicians running against each other for 73 majoritarian seats in Parliament at the beginning of October.
We believe there is great deal of interest among the public regarding who these individual politicians are, who aspire to represent Georgia’s citizens in Parliament. By providing an additional space where citizens can not only find out more about their candidate but also tell others what they know about that politician, we believe the tool will contribute to the free flow of information about majoritarian candidates among citizens.
Having this in mind, we created individual pages for all registered majoritarian nominees and grouped them by districts they are competing in. We have already filled in some of the profiles with information which was available to us. Due to the wiki format, users can contribute to personal biographies of candidates, enrich their profiles with interesting details and enter the discussion with other citizens without having to register on the website. For that reason, TI Georgia does not endorse or support any of the information available on the website. As a facilitator of this initiative, TI Georgia reserves the right to remove inappropriate content and information that we verify is false.
