Following the application of our organization, the Council of the Charter of Journalistic Ethics of Georgia decided that the journalist of TV Rustavi 2, Natia Lazashvili, violated [1] the first principle of the Charter (accuracy of information). The complaint was based on the reportage broadcasted on the news program “Courier” at 21:00 o’clock on December 14, 2020, in which the anchor stated that Transparency International Georgia had changed its position on the results of the parliamentary elections, which, in the Council's opinion, was the incorrect information.

Our organization actively defends the rights of the media and journalists and their freedom of expression, which is facing serious challenges today. However, it is also important that media representatives adhere to universally recognized professional and ethical standards when covering ongoing processes in the country.
