Three non-governmental organizations - International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association and Transparency International Georgia held a joint presentation of elections web-portal in Tbilisi Marriott Hotel at 13 pm, on June 19.
Electoral portal of NGOs aims to provide diverse and comprehensive information about parliamentary elections 2012 to stakeholders as well as register alleged violations reported by NGOs and ordinary citizens during pre-election period, on election day and afterwards and reflecting it on the map of Georgia. The portal address is www.electionsportal.ge [1]
The portal will enable citizens to post on-line any information about the alleged violations and incidents during election period. In addition, a free SMS number - 2500 will be launched along with the portal, where any citizen will be able to send information from any mobile network.
The portal is administered by the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy.
The project is implemented by the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is funded by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), East-West Management Institute (EWMI) and Advocacy for Public Policy and Development of Civil Society in Georgia (G-PAC). The portal was initially supported by Open Society Georgia.
