Transparency International Georgia publishes the third blog about pressure on landowner in Gonio from Mr. Davit Charbadze the prosecutor of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic’s Prosecutor’s Office in 2011.

The victim, Khatuna Kakhidze said that she and her husband were summoned to the prosecutor’s office and were requested to return her land to the state, which has already been sold.

Number of similar facts creates reasonable doubts that intimidations had occurred regularly and had a systematic nature. It is important to investigate each of these cases carefully to determine the exact range of affected individuals and reveal public officials suspected in illegal activities. At the same time Transparency International Georgia welcomes initiative of the State Prosecutor to investigate the fact related to the property encroachment.
