Transparency International Releases the Corruption Perception Index 2007

Tbilisi, Georgia – Berlin-based Transparency International, the global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption, published today the results of the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2007 in which Georgia received 3.4 points (out of a total ten), ranking 79th among 180 countries. The CPI ranks countries in terms of the degree in which business people and country analysts, both residents and nonresidents,perceive corruption to exist in the public and political sectors.
