'This Affects You Too' Announcement
This Affects You Too campaign participants would like to thank supporters and update them on the activities made as part of the campaign
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear colleagues, friends and supporters,
We would like to thank sincerely all those non-governmental and media organizations, their representatives, journalists and experts that have somehow contributed to This Affects You Too campaign.
Thank you all who signed the petition regarding election legislation, who were in anyway involved in the process of the improvement of the election legislation, who supported us with intellectual and human resources.
Special thanks to the embassies accredited to Georgia and international organizations that have expressed their interest in This Affects You Too Campaign and have been involved in the improvement of the election environment in Georgia.
We feel obliged to present to all our supporters and campaign participants:
- A small report on the first phase of the campaign with chronologically arranged order of developments;
- A comparative analysis of the current version of the Law on Political Unions of Citizens and the provisions amended through negotiations with the Legal Issues Committee of Parliament.
We think that in the process of the improvement of the election environment the agreement reached with the Legal Issues Committee of Parliament is a step forward made thanks to joint efforts of the civil sector. We hope the Parliament will take into account all provisions negotiated with the civil sector at each phase of the consideration of the Law on Political Unions of Citizens and will completely reflect them in the amended version of the law.
Please, be also informed that the campaign keeps on working on the improvement of the election environment. The second phase of the campaign will basically focus on the monitoring of activities of the Chamber of Control and improvement of the election code.
