In 2001-2012, Iranian citizens registered 2 370 companies in Georgia. In 2013-2024, 4 times more - 9 300 Iranian companies were registered.

In 2012, 82 885 visitors arrived from Iran. In 2024, 2 times more - 145 670.

In 2001-2012, 8 mln USD FDI flowed from Iran. In 2013-2024, FDI was 5 times more - 40 mln USD.

In 2012, Georgia's trade turnover with Iran was 119 mln USD (19 mln USD exports, 101 mln USD imports). In 2024 the turnover was 2.7 times more - 322 mln USD (37 mln USD exports, 285 mln USD imports).

Along with deepening economic relations, the Georgian Dream government has grown politically closer to the Iranian government.
