TI Georgia continues to conduct studies on proactive publication of public information by municipalities. This time we present the results of the Zestaponi Municipality:

The study conducted in Zestaponi has revealed the following circumstances:

• The Town Council (Sakrebulo) of Zestaponi established the procedure of proactive publication of public information by Ordinance No. 19, which was adopted on September 23, 2016;
•  The Ordinance is in line with the requirements of Ordinance No. 219 of the Government of Georgia, which establishes a high standard of proactive publication of public information;
• However, the information posted on the common website of the Town Hall and the Town Council (http://zestaphoni.ge/) does not correspond with the list of information to be published proactively as defined by the Ordinance.

TI Georgia calls upon the Town Hall and Town Council of Zestaponi to eliminate the said problem in a timely manner, to fulfill the obligation undertaken by Ordinance No. 19 that was adopted on September 23, 2016, and to ensure that the information is uploaded fully to the official website.The organization also believes that in order to ensure more transparency, the Town Hall and Town Council of Zestaponi should create separate websites.
